Living Memory Project Celebrates Artists – Local art collectors are being encouraged to share their artwork at a ‘show and tell’ event in Malmesbury this Saturday. The event forms part of the In Living Memory project. This project celebrates artists who’ve lived and produced artwork in the town and its surrounding area, from the 1940s to the present day.

SIX! The Tudor Musical
Wow! Six! The Tudor Musical – what can I say? History wasn’t like this when I did my GCE ‘O’ Level. Yes I am that old. But then my ‘O’ Level history course was social and economic so it was all Enclosures, Jethro Tull’s seed drill and Bessemer’s converter rather than kings and queens of England and Scotland. Well, it’s safe to say that my erstwhile sketchy knowledge of Henry VIII’s six wives has now had the gaps filled in!

Enchanted Gardens Light Trail Returning
Following on from the success of the inaugural Enchanted Gardens Light Trail, it thrills South Swindon Parish Council to announce its return. Last year the trial welcomed over 27,000 visitors. The year it’s set to be bigger and better than ever!

Hannah Dosanjh Childrens’ Book
Hot off the press is this gorgeous book written an illustrated by Swindon artist, Hannah Dosanjh. Surprisingly, despite a tsunami of writings about Swindon, my own publications included, no-one has, to my knowledge, written Swindon’s story in a child-friendly format. So congrats Hannah for filling that gap.Oh to be this talented!

The Pinehurst Peleton* is a new mural in …. wait for it … Pinehurst. It’s a great name for a mural gracing the side wall of the E-Motion electric cycle shop in Pinehurst – and who knew??
Wind in The Willows
Award-winning theatre company, Calf 2 Cow, are bursting with excitement. How so? Their bonkers outdoor theatre production adaption of, The Wind in The Willows, is returning for a second tour. And they’re stopping off in Swindon this Friday 9 September at 7pm.
