Turkish Baths Roof Emergency Work. This update on the ongoing work on Milton Road baths, AKA, the health hydro, comes via the Friends of the Health Hydro and Swindon Borough Council.
The Turkish Baths, in the Health Hydro in Milton Road, are the oldest Victorian Turkish Baths still operating. They’ll be closed for a while longer when the building is reopened, because of the work being carried out on the roof.
Town Gardens Free Christmas Event. This December, South Swindon Parish Council is proud to present a brand-new winter attraction. It’s right in the heart of Swindon’s Old Town, inside the beautiful Town Gardens. And it’s completely free to join in the fun!
Daughter Joins Mum’s RPA Business – Revolution Performing Arts to be precise. Swindon-based Revolution Performing Arts (RPA) is marking its 18th anniversary with a special new arrival. None other than founder Fi Da Silva Adams’ daughter, Angel. She’s now joined the family business.

A Fulltone Orchestral Christmas. Prepare for an enchanting yuletide treat as The Fulltone Orchestra presents An Orchestral Christmas on Sunday 14 December 2025 at Marlborough College Memorial Hall, with none other than Aled Jones MBE. Audiences can enjoy two magical performances. First a matinee at 2.30pm and an evening show at 6.00pm. The latter featuring The Snowman narrated by the much-loved national treasure.
There’s been many reports and rumours circulating online recently. All claiming that the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon would soon be closing its doors. We can state, quite categorically, this is NOT the case.
Trafalgar Theatres’ current contract with Swindon Borough Council runs until 2029. Until then, we continue to have a packed programme of shows and events at the Wyvern.

A few weeks ago I’d booked myself on a tour of the Health Hydro – AKA – Milton Road Baths. In the event, I couldn’t make it – family ties etc. So I asked a chum and fellow Swindon Heritage Preservation Trust, trustee for a few words on the topic.
