RPA secures lottery funding
One of the south west’s leading performing arts organisations has secured £10,000 of National Lottery funding. This is for its forthcoming platinum jubilee project – a series of events to mark the historic event. The project includes the creation of a special feature-length film celebrating the longevity and tenacity of live theatre.

SOMAG hopes for positive engagement
The SOMAG campaign group welcomes the appointment of councillor Matty Courtliff to the Cabinet. Matty is SBC’s new Cabinet member for culture, heritage, leisure and town centre experience.

BIG JUBILEE LUNCH IN QUEEN’S PARK
On Sunday 5 June, South Swindon Parish Council will host a Big Jubilee Lunch in Queen’s Park to commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
You’re all invited to bring along a picnic and join together on the glade opposite the hot house. There’ll be an afternoon of entertainment from ZambaLando, who recently performed to an enthusiastic crowd at the Town Garden’s bandstand. There’ll also be a chance to take part in arts and crafts, games and competitions.

Marc Morris and the Dark Ages
Channel 4 television presenter, Marc Morris will be a special guest speaker at the Athelstan Museum on Saturday May 7. He’ll be there to share his insights into the Anglo Saxons and the so-called ‘Dark Ages’.
FREE BANDSTAND CONCERTS ARE BACK
