With half-term upon us, the Festival of Tomorrow has a whole week of fun ahead to help keep all the family entertained. All including loads of free events and experiences. We’ve picked a dozen of our favourite things for families to see and do, completely free!
Swindon’s popular Festival of Tomorrow returns with its biggest ever programme of activities and events next month. It’s back with loads of free experiences to keep families and adults entertained during the half-term break.
Swindon Open Studios is 20. Swindon Open Studios are celebrating 20 years since their first community art event in September 2004. To kick off these celebrations they’re delighted to be working with Swindon Designer Outlet to host a pop-up gallery at their shopping centre from Sat. 10th – Sun. 18th February.
The Woman in Black is a stage play dating from 1987. Adapted by Stephen Mallatratt, it’s based on the 1983 book of the same name, by Susan Hill.
The A Death in Church novel, written by Richard M Mattick is helping to raise funds for the Big Breakfast Plus Swindon.

So last night I got to see the Wyvern Theatre Snow White panto production for 2023. And Swindon, you’re in for a treat. The cast and the junior ensemble tell the tale of the princess poisoned by the bite of a Royal Gala with much aplomb. The whole thing is fab fun and as entertaining as it gets. *Most of the usual panto elements are present – there’s cheering and booing and hissing and the ‘he’s behind you’ ghost scene. Not to mention nerf guns – when DID they become a thing? Anyway – they’re clearly an integral part of the performance now.
Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre and Imagine Theatre announce full casting for their upcoming annual family treat. And it’s the fairest panto of them all Snow White from 02 – 31 December.
PLANS TO RE-INVENT APSLEY HOUSE. YOUNG entrepreneur Arthur Dallimer has submitted plans to Swindon Council. The plans set out his future vision for the town’s former museum and art gallery, Apsley House.
Swindon’s leading performing arts company, Revolution Performing Arts (RPA), will be continuing its support of struggling Swindon families over the festive period. They’ll be providing hot meals and a series of creative activities at settings across the town.
The Social Scaffolding art collective is exhibiting immersive, interactive and participatory art in Swindon.
Their Outlet Centre (unit 9) exhibition is open to the public to drop in from 11th November – 26th November, 12pm – 5pm, Wednesday – Sunday.
