Museum/Art Artist Takeover by Helen Savin. Helen’s a Swindon-based abstract artist. Earlier this year she received an invitation to show her work at the launch of the new Museum & Art Swindon. It was a real high point for her after going through a rocky time when she hit the menopause in 2019.

Farm Fun for Cinderella Cast.The Wyvern Theatre ‘went to the ball’ this week. They had the pleasure of welcoming their enchanting 2024 Panto cast to Swindon for the official launch of Cinderella. Cast members gathered at Roves Farm for a pumpkin-tastic photoshoot that would enchant any Fairy Godmother. Set against a backdrop of vibrant autumn colours and a barn filled with magical pumpkins, the cast embraced the playful atmosphere of the day as they donned their colourful costumes.

PA Announces Casting Date. Leading south west performing arts company, Revolution Performing Arts, is seeking young people to audition. They want them to try out for its upcoming production of the National Theatre’s Connections play Tuesday by playwright Alison Carr. It’ll be taking place in Gloucestershire next year.

Alfred Williams Hammerman Poet. It appears that I’ve never mentioned the South-Marston-born polymath on this blog before now. But a visit to South Marston yesterday to see the houses with which Alfred’s short life intertwined, has prompted me to correct that.
