Auctioneer Gareth Wasp said: ‘It delights us to offer this rare Rolex watch. Made in limited numbers this watch appeals to both collectors and watch dealers alike.

‘The military commissioned the small group of Attack Force watches from Rolex in 2014. Produced to commemorate UK Apache operations and offered to the longest serving members of the British Army Air Corps. This one to Chief of Staff Lt Col RGJ Stein.’

RWB Auctions opened its doors earlier this year and it represents an investment of around £3m in the High Street by entrepreneur Jon White. The premises houses the auction house, an art gallery and a bistro which will open its doors in the coming weeks.

The auction house’s estimate for the Rolex is at least £16,000. It will go under the hammer as lot 448 in a jewellery, silver and watches sale on Wednesday March 27.
