‘This is a very important event for our town. It’s our opportunity to recognise individuals of all ages and community groups that do so much to make Malmesbury a special place. Anyone can make a nomination and I encourage them to do so. We also want to acknowledge those volunteers who have been working away. So often quietly behind the scenes keeping so many clubs, societies, local charities and community groups going. This is also the moment to shine the spotlight on them.’

Nominations for the awards are now open, and members of the community are encouraged to submit nominations for deserving candidates.

Last year winners included:

  • Rhoslyn Millard – Junior Citizen of the Year
  • Ellie Barlow – Young Citizen of the Year
  • Lou James – Citizen of the Year (awarded posthumously)
  • Malmesbury Amateur Boxing Club – Organisation of the Year.

The deadline for submission of nomination forms for this year’s awards is 12pm on Monday 18th March. A panel of judges, appointed by Malmesbury town council, will review the nominations.

The Malmesbury Civic Awards Ceremony will then take place on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, at 7:00 pm.
