On the South west Business Awards Shortlists we have, in no particular order, our fab four Swindon/Wiltshire businesses that have made it on the shortlist in various categories:

Dave Southby Financial Advisor
Dave Southby, 30 and from Wroughton, finds himself shortlisted in two categories. His shortlisting comes after quickly building a successful business and becoming a pillar of the local community. He says it’s very rewarding to get this kind of recognition.
‘It’s amazing to have make the shortlist for these awards. And it’s such a great way to start the year, ‘said Dave. “Starting a new business during the pandemic was a risk but I felt determined to make it work. Being shortlisted for these awards at this point is so satisfying. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the judges.’
Fiona Da Silva Adams – Revolution Performing Arts
Fi Da Silva Adams, from Swindon, has in two categories in the South-West Business & Community Awards. This comes after having built the successful Revolution Performing Arts and its sister company, Rapport CIC. Both of which have strong social goals. She’s shortlisted in the categories of Female Entrepreneur of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to the Community.
It was such a surprise to learn that I’d made the shortlist for these awards,” said Fi. ‘I feel very humbled to think my work has been ‘seen’ and recognised in this way. It’s a real honour.’
Rob Curtis, founder of Swindon-based digital marketing agency, The Pursuit Agency, is in the running for two business awards. They’re both recognition of his incredible achievements in less than two years.
Dynamic and energetic entrepreneur Rob set up The Pursuit Agency in July 2022.
Rob (34) hit the ground running and The Pursuit Agency turned over more than £50K in its first quarter alone. The business soon moved from the founder’s kitchen table to premises at the Workshed in Swindon. And Rob put a robust growth strategy in place to take the business forward.
Claire Brewerton of Virtual Business Centre based in Brinkworth
Claire Brewerton, of The Virtual Business Centre, is also nominated as Female Entrepreneur of the Year. And her business as Employer of the Year. The team offer remote telephone answering and other services.
The South-West Business Awards celebrate the achievements of businesses, charities and inspirational individuals across the region. Categories include Business of the Year, Start-Up of the Year, Networker of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
The awards ceremony takes place on 2nd February at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Swindon. Judges include Paul Day, who has almost 30 years’ experience working with corporate businesses, including some of the most recognisable household names. And highly-respected South-West media entrepreneur, Anita Jaynes, founder of the Business Exchange Group.
