Swindon Accountancy Apprentice Success.
Two accountancy and audit apprentices are celebrating. Their party mood comes after success in their qualifications to become AAT accredited. Callum Morton and Zach Bunce both joined Swindon-based Optimum Professional Services in October 2020, having decided on accountancy careers.
They both expressed huge delight to have achieved the AAT level. They’re are now going on to study for their ACA chartered qualifications.
‘We’re happy to have passed our exams and have got our AAT qualifications at the same time,’ said Zach. ‘We’re working on client accounts, some corporation tax, some auditing and management accounts, and very much enjoying it.’
Before joining Optimum as an apprentice, Zach had been working in financial services and wealth management. Callum had been in customer service and retail roles.
Callum said: ‘I’d done my Level 2 accountancy at college and was quite good at maths, so I decided to change careers. Everyone at the firm has been supportive and they’re a great team to work with. We’d definitely recommend apprenticeships as a way to get into the profession.’
Optimum is keen to encourage people into accountancy, and is taking on two new AAT apprentices this summer.
Tracey Heath, the operations director, said: ‘We’re proud of Zach and Callum for achieving their AAT qualification. We wish them luck in the next stage of their careers. They’re a fantastic addition to the team and it’s great to support talented young people into the profession.’
